United States Consulates are located in almost every country around the world. Many countries have several U.S. Consulates, which are normally placed in major citizes with a large population of U.S. citizens. A Consulate services both U.S. citizens and individuals wanting to visit the United States. A U.S. Embassy will provide the same services as a Consulate, but while there may be several consulates there will only be one Embassy in a country.
