How to Add Pages to your U.S. Passport

It is possible to add pages to an existing U.S. passport. The process of adding more blank pages to a United States passport can take 4 to 6 weeks. It is possible to pay an expedited fee and receive the passport in 2 to 4 weeks. It is strongly recommended to not wait until the last minute to add blank pages to your passport. Traveling on a passport with few or no blank pages may lead to problems at foreign ports of entry. If the foreign border official does not have any space to put a visa or entry stamp on your passport, you may be denied entry.

48-page Passports: For many years it was possible to apply for a 24 or 48 page passport. However, it is no longer possible to obtain a 48 page passport, only 24-page passports are currently issued by the United States government.
