Form I-918, Petition for U Nonimmigrant Status
Form I-918 may be completed by individuals who are victims of certain criminal activities. Form I-918 must be filed by the victim, but family members can be included on the initial form. The purpose of Form I-918 is to verify if an individual is a victim of criminal activity as specified in section 101(a)(15)(U) of the INA. Examples of criminal activity may be rape, torture, trafficking, incest, prostitution, female genial mutilation, kidnapping , murder, perjury and similar activies. Eligible individuals may qualify for temporary immigration benefits upon approval of Form I-918.
