Form I-751 can only filed by conditional residents who became a conditional resident through marriage. The purpose of Form I-751 is to remove the conditions on the green card. The conditional resident would afterwards become a permanent resident. The conditional resident must renew the green card every two year, while a permanent resident must renew the green card every ten year.
