Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Form I-485 may be completed by a non-U.S. citizen in the United States to adjust the status to that of a permanent resident of the United States. Form I-485 may under certain circumstances be used by Cuban nationals to change the date of when their permanent residency began. Individuals that do not provide correct information may face consequences of the application being denied, fines and/or imprisonment. A person may also lose future immigration benefits.
