Form DS-156 is used to apply for certain non-immigrant visas. For most types of visitor’s visas, like tourist or business visas, Form DS-156 has been replaced by the newer Form DS-160. However, Form DS-156 is still being used to apply for the K-1 Fiancée visa, and other visas in the K, N, S, T and U categories.

Form DS-156 (Nonimmigrant Visa Application) may also be known as Department of State Visa Form DS156, DS 156, Form DS156 or immigration form DS-156. Form DS156 must be completed online before printed out and submitted for application.
