  • Central American youths caught long before they reach the U.S. border: Many Central American youths are willing to risk their lives to cross the border into Mexico, in order to eventually reach the United States border.

  • Illegal immigrants from India Increasing at a High Rate: Due to the numerous amount of skilled workers in India’s workforce, it is no surprise that they are being issued a high number of temporary work visas to gain employment in the United States. During the 2005 fiscal year, Indians were granted nearly 195,000 work visas that allowed them to come to the United States.

  • NACARA: Once an individual is granted relief under NACARA they are also granted lawful permanent resident status. Today NACARA Section 203 is still in effect but is only open to certain applicants. Eligible participants must fall into one of five categories and have no prior felony convictions.
